Raves - CS Eyeshadow Base and Shu Uemera Makeup Remover

Jun 26, 2009 23:35

I just came back from the Shu Uemura Tokyo Kamon Girls Launch Party. Fancy mouthful aside, it's basically a series of make-up cleansers - but oh boy, what a funky cleanser series this is.

1. Massage this onto your face to dissolve the makeup. (No water at this stage!)
2. When makeup is dissolved, add water and massage again to get milky emulsion.
3. Wash off milky emulsion with more water.
4. Towel dry and go to bed. I KID YOU NOT. No further cleansing necessary!

I tried out and yes, water does remove the cleansing oil. I'm pretty amazed. Considering that soap/alkaline stuff used to remove oil normally is drying on the skin, saving the cleanser step should be more moisturising on your skin! And the cleansers themselves come in 6 different formulas - enrich (for dry skin), calm, whitening, etc...

I would buy this, especially with the GWPs available, except for the fact that 150ml costs $50-70. Ouch. If I earned enough (and don't blow my salary on blogshops already), I would very much like to have this.

They were also nice enough to give all the RSVP guests a goodie bag.

I discovered this event through Cozycot.
Many thanks to Shu Uemura for organising this event, and providing us with nice Macarons(??) from Bakerzin!

AND. I HAVE TO RAVE ABOUT THIS! THE BEST AND CHEAPEST PRIMER/EYESHADOW BASE, EVER!!

See the bottom, the white bottle? Well, if you remember my earlier entry on the Ebay Palette Spree, I mentioned that I bought the white eyeliner, the same as that on Coastal Scents, just that it's cheaper since it's the OEM version. (This is the same as what my ex-MUA uses and tried to sell me at $28, mind you!) Anyway, using it as a eyeliner, I experienced some smudging, but thanks to the advice of some girls on cozycot, I bought white thinking to use it as eyeshadow base/below-brow highlighter - and it works WONDERS. I worked on the PC show from 11am-9pm for the entirety of last weekend, and my eyeshadow remained intact till I got home! Some fellow promoters even commented on my nice eyeshadow work and staying power. Considering that my eyelids tend to eat eyeshadows for snacks normally (after morning application, the eyeshadows vaporise by lunchtime), this is a MIRACLE. I'm definately stocking up on some other colors like light browns and turquoise, purple etc for rushed/lazy days when I don't wanna have to deal with different colors and blending! Chuck your expensive Urban Decay, MAC or whatever-not eyelid primers, girls! The highly-raved Loreal Hip Eye Color Extender which I owe too loses to this hands down!

Lighter colored eyeshadows also shows up on this white "cream shadow" - I used ORM's Honeydew Eyes to match the lime green of my AE Jackie in Lime today and it's still 60% intact when I came home at 10pm just now. Not bad, huh?

P.S. The brush is supposed to be a dupe of MAC 187 - well it's not as soft, but not that rough either - for 4USD I certainly can't complain.
