Thoughts and things...

It's not wrong that the world should turn, life should go on, fandoms should thrive only days after the death of Heath Ledger, but I'm not done yet. I feel empty between sudden waves of sadness and even they're so momentary, because I can't make myself digest that he'll never make another movie.

People can roll their eyes, I'm sure they are and will, but he was one of my boys.

I hate that people will mostly remember him for A Knight's Tale, because even though it's a good film, it's not even half of what he was, it's not even almost an example of what he had to give in terms of talent and guts. Brokeback Mountain, Candy and even The Dark Knight. He should be remembered for these roles. Half the people judging him right now will never watch Brokeback Mountain, have never heard of Candy and won't recognise him for what he was until this summer when his portrayal of the Joker hits cinema screens. And some of them won't even see that.

I honestly believe that amidst an ocean of pretty-boy movie stars with repetative rolls and little talent, we've lost one of the greats. One of the actors our generation had to be proud of. I hope he's remembered that way. He deserves it.
