Holiday decorations are in place!

Well, last week was a bluster of activity for me. I had to put up most of my holiday decor up last week before the family came on Wednesday. I hosted Thanksgiving dinner at my place and my parents, brother and kids came to visit. It was Hotel de Sanders. I had been working so hard on everything leading up to the holidays that I made myself sick...I think...I ended up with a mysterious stomach bug and exhaustion Wednesday morning. I yacked all morning long and didn't prep any of the food that day. It ended up being an everyone contribute day for Thursday. I had a 24lb turkey that took 7 hours to cook...at least it took seven hours to prepare all the other food for the feast. All worked out and dinner was great! To boot, I could gorge myself becuase I was sickly so at least I didn't overdo it for once...a silver lining!

We shopped and played games. My brother bought Scene It! so that was fun. I had never played it before that and really enjoyed. I must really be a couch potato because I won every game...even Alex liked that game and he was pretty good at it too. Finally, a game I can get him to play! My nephew is doing well with his chemo but the meds make his temper tantrums 100X worse...he was a little hellion this weekend. Anyway, it was good to see everyone but I guess it was a bit of a relief to just relax afterwards. Now I'm just looking forward to the last week of the year...I am off from work the whole week...Woohoo! Something to look forward to.

On another note, I got word today that Nighteyes_70 got his phone interview with TSC and now has a scheduled interview for Thursday. Woohoo. I prodded a little at work to get him in so hopefully that will lead him to a fulfilling job so he can get back on his feet and start moving forward again. It will be cool if he gets it as I'll have another pal here in Nashville to hang with without having to drive so far. Fingers crossed and candles lit. That's about it for now. Hope everyone else had a good holidays!
