Weekend Getaway!
Well, bestest friend Nighteyes_70 sounded like he needed to getaway and have fun with friends so our friend Josh and I got together with him and we we out on Saturday and had lunch at the best Mexican restaurant, El Bracero and then went and saw The Omen...how shall I say...SUCK! If it hadn't been for our comments to each other throughout the movie it would have been SUPER SUCK. It was kind of fun to poke at the red imagery. Each time we saw something red, our fingers would all go up and we'd say "Red." You might have had to be there but it was freak'n hilarous...probably not to the people in front of us or the stupid couple that brought their infant child to The Omen...wassup with that?
Anyway, we browsed games at a few places and went shopping for snacks to take with us to his parent's cabin at the lakes. We headed off into the wilderness just in time to start a fire and roast weenies and brats. While roasting dogs, we were ambushed by the biggest mole I've ever seen. It scampered away and dug under the ground when we approached...must have felt the vibrations from our feet. Josh and I braved the spiders and webs under the house to get some firewood. Right as we got to where the wood was, the flashlight went out. We were like "great!" knowing that there were spiders and webs all around us. I banged the light just in time for us to see that we truly were surrounded and being the girly men we were, grabbed five small pieces of wood and ran back to the fire.
After choking down our weenies..hee, hee, we played a really fun card game where you tell stories and you use the cards in your hand to help guide the story to an eventual ending that you have to get to. It was so late and some of the stories were so rediculous (ie...magikal pagoda of visions, golden magikal king horses, ugly girl and smelly guy making pacts through thick bushes, magic ring removing birds 10 leagues down a wall, ghost killing magical swords, etc...)but we were dying laughing the whole time.
We watched half of The Island and then all of us fell asleep for a bit. We went to bed at 7:30AM and got up about noon and made biscuits and sausage gravy. It was YUM! we sat around and talked, watched some really bad movies(classics)and chilled. Chris got a few calls from Josh's wife only to find out that he forgot about his nephew's birthday party...uh, oh...trouble at the Lassiter home. My hubby had made dinner for me and prepared some things for us only for me to be late getting home. We can't win for losing! Anyway, I think a fun time was had by all and we'd love to do it again...maybe even make a routine out of it. All you have are your friends and family to pull you through life so you have to make the most of it when you can!
