I used to never take part in contests, like at McDonalds or various retail stores. I've never believed that the winners were real. I assumed it was rigged because I'd never met anyone who had ever won anything substantial.
A few years ago, a distant friend of Mark's who was fairly down on his luck was bought a house by his father who had just won a few million in 6/49.
Then last year, Marks half-brother won an SUV from Tim Horton's. I was looking at his shiny $40,000 vehicle last weekend thinking WOW!
I'm a reborn believer now.
Since Starbucks offers no contests with a chance of winning anything and I'm happy drinking whatever, I'm off to roll up my rim.
