Oh looky, it's me for 2011

Jan 04, 2011 00:12

Well hi kids, once again I am popping in.

But unlike before I do plan to stay this time.

However, as it is 11.15pm, I can't think of anything incredibly intelligent to say. So in true LJ style, I will start off with a meme.

1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?

Went to Ibiza, went away with the boything, dyed my hair red, dyed my hair purple, saved some money, made my own halloween costume, slept in other people's houses between Christmas and New Year, colour themed my weeks to keep my OCD happy.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Well they were 'eat less, drink more', and I'm not entirely sure if I achieved it. There will be none for this year, I find them a bit pointless.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

My friend Claire from work gave birth to a fine young lad named Jack. :)

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Yes, we lost my Great Uncle Mick to prostate cancer. Very sad.

5. What countries did you visit?

Spain and France.

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?

A flat!

7. What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

Ooh good question. Probably 9th September, as it was when I arrived for the final stint in Ibiza and finally got to see Tiesto, and had an amazing night. Which also led to my discovery of Tegan and Sara.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Finally getting everyone to Ibiza!

9. What was your biggest failure?

Not saving up enough to move out. Boo.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Nothing serious, the normal drink bruises I think.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

A Star Wars dressing gown robe for Rory's birthday!

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

Everyone I love for putting up with me after I'd had the dreaded injection.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?

No one really, everything was rather placid. So I will say...erm...Mel Gibson.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Holidays. Silly.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Seeing lots of fab DJs, starting to save for somewhere to live, Back to the Future 25th anniversary re-release in the cinemas, Sonisphere...that's all I can think of right now.

16. What song will always remind you of 2010?

Too hard. 'Threshold' by Sex Bob-omb, 'Barbra Streisand', 'Raining Blood' by Slayer.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. happier or sadder? Probably happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

I wish I'd seen more bands. I failed a bit through saving.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Drinking. It doesn't make me feel too clever of a morning anymore.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

Bit late for this one! But I spent it between houses and beverages.

21. What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you in 2010?

Hmm. Probably my epic crying extravaganza during our caravan experience. Oh whyyy did I do that?

22. Did you fall in love in 2010?

Already in it. Re-discovered a love for Michael J Fox if that counts?

23. How many one-night stands?

None.

24. What was your favorite TV program?

Glee. It was a new discovery of a happy programme that doesn't fit with my usual format of grisly murders. Also Chris Colfer is my hero.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

Don't think so. I'm drama free baby.

26. What was the best book you read?

'Lucky Man' by Michael J Fox. Mega inspiring.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Metric. What a band.

28. What did you want and get?

My Mickey Mouse ring from Sleeping Beauty's castle. We also both wanted to say 'ring' a lot to the assistant and got to do it.

29. What did you want and not get?

A trip to Florida. I always want that.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

Too hard on storyline, I will go for Avatar because it was gorgey.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I had a geek night in a club in Newmarket, which ruled. I was 24.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

More Disney!

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?

Colour schemed mostly. Also more confident than it ever has been. More frocks.

34. What kept you sane?

The people around me. Cigarettes. Alcohol. But that stopped me being sane also.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Wahlberg baby.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

The student fee increase. You couldn't fail to miss it, and it made excellent debate material with people who like to think they know what they're on about.

37. Who did you miss?

Uncle Dave, always. My good friend Jo Waters, who has fallen so in love that she doesn't quite seem to have time for us anymore.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

Off the top of my head, Emma Smith. I think I met her this year? Lovely, pretty, funny, lady.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010:

Not having 1000000000 friends isn't so bad. It's better to have fewer good ones.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
'Now I shall REIGN IN BLOOD!'

new year
