Hi. I'll respond to the comments on my last post later, but I just wanted to post this now.
My son and I live in Texas, and Hurricane Harvey is heading our way. It won't hit our city as hard as Corpus Christi or Houston - as a matter of fact, evacuees from those cities are heading towards us for shelter - but this area is unfortunately well known for NOT handling rain well, so there will likely be flooding. We may even lose power.
I've stocked up on food and water, but batteries are sold out everywhere. I've filled the car with gas and parked it in the garage, along with all our outdoor furniture. This is a one-level house, so there's no basement, but I've picked a windowless room where my son and I can hide out if necessary. We're charging all our electronic devices, and I've called my mom to let her know we're okay.
So for anyone who was wondering, so far so good. We're okay.
