“Merlin, listen to me. I can save you. If I turn you you'll heal. You'll live but you'd be one of us. A werewolf. Do you understand?”
Merlin nodded. He was losing consciousness but he understood.
“I want to do this, Merlin, I need to...” Arthur paused, looking very unhappy. “I'll only do this if you want me to.”
Merlin already had a werewolf as boyfriend and probable future husband. He;d seen how happy Arthur’s pack were. If he was a werewolf he'd be part of that, be part of Arthur's life. “I want you to,” he said. “Do it, Arthur.”
Arthur didn’t say anything, he didn't have to. Merlin thought he heard Arthur say 'I love you.' but perhaps he was mistaken. With a brief kiss Arthur shifted into his wolf form and nuzzled the area near Merlin’s neck. Merlin looked down to see Gwaine pull the knife out before he felt Arthur sink his teeth into his flesh.
There was a sharp feeling of something travelling through him and then he fell unconscious.
For Arthur the next few minutes ticked by slowly. He just hoped Merlin was strong enough to survive the turning. It was';t a quick process and it wasn't an easy process and Merlin had already been suffered quite a bit of blood loss. He watched closely for any signs of Merlin turning. Pulling up Merlin's shirt he saw the wound stop bleeding and allowed himself to hope.
As he watched the flesh began to knit together until an angry scar was left. Then Merlin's body began to convulse. Now was the difficult part as Merlin's human body changed and became wolf. It was a slower shift, much slower than Arthur's and as a result harder to watch,
There was no choice for Arthur though who was fixated on his mate. Merlin grew hair, his limbs changes, arms becoming forelegs. His head changed shape as he formed a muzzle. Merlin didn’t really thrash about as Arthur had expected and that had him worried.
Finally the change was complete and Merlin was still breathing, and strongly. The worse was over. Merlin would survive. Arthur nuzzled his mate, taking in the rich glossy black fur that was part of Merlin's new body. He'd stay in wolf form until at least dawn and then after that he would be subject to the whims of the moon.
Merlin was going to have a tough time of it in the next few days but Arthur was determined to do his best for him. He turned to the rest of the pack.
“Let's get him home,” Arthur said.

Yey they kissed! And I'm thrilled that Merlin finally gets to meet the whole pack. Awesome. Giggling so hard at Percival when he keeps on almost letting the secret out. ::pets Percival:: And now I'm really curious how things are gonna be like now that Merlin knows and now that he's also a werewolf. Thanks for the big update, author anon.
