Things of Kings
So... first off: "Things of Kings" is just such a good phrase that I'm literally saddened (you know, even more) that the show is canceled because I will not get to use it again. *pouts* But, we carry on. The following contains RAMPANT SPOILERS for Kings 1x08. You've been warned all officially.

Also, for posterity I would like to state once and for all that on June 16th, FOUR DAYS, before episode 8 aired, Laura and I were discussing Kings in depth (as we do) and I said the following:
Me (4:47:09 PM):I think Jack compeltely loves Joseph. Like, more than anyone he's ever met. His father tells him to make sacrifices, and Jack feels like he's got to go big or go home, so he gets rid of Joseph
Laura (4:47:21 PM):*pouts*
Laura (4:47:25 PM):but yeah, I could see that
Me (4:47:48 PM):And the parallels between him and his father would indicate that Jack has to give up the only person he's ever really loved for power and keep that loved one totally secret
Laura (4:48:22 PM):yeah, amanda and I were actually talking about that instead of watching Terminator the other night. the parallells I mean
Me (4:49:21 PM):and when he throws those two girls out after he takes David out on the town, that chick says that David is just too in love to sleep with someone else and Jack gets REALLY FUCKING mad and throws them out
-Low and behold, Jack goes for Joe when the lights are out. God damn I love this show and being right. *clears throat* And moving on...
-Yay seeing all of David's brothers! And also, WOW, you're all adorable. That Dad must have been a hot piece of ass cuz their mom aint anything to write home about /bitchy (<== the close tag kind of lies)
-Many times I have exclaimed about how much I love the way this show is shot. Good lord! The cake and Silas trying to blow out the candle, the hallway walking scene in the hospital, the hospital room. OH MY GRACIOUS GOODNESS, the light, you guys. *hands*
-Michelle is kind of a tease. I consider it a tribute the chops of the actress playing her that I don't hate her yet. Her lines suck, and she's a little useless sometimes, but I still kind of want to pet her precious head. That's good acting, my friends.
-David gets all the good lines. "Not a princess, just a girl in the dark."
-"The lights are down, you can be anyone you want." <3
-Said in real time response to the above: "OMG PLEASE GO TO JOOOOOEEEE"
-Silas with a big ass gun will never not be awesome.
-Said in real time response to the above: "Did someone spike his cake?"
-The hiss on the end of Silas made me LOL so hard. I think it was supposed to be scary but come on. Silassssss. *crack up*
-"Only beginnings with you", Silas is a good daddy sometimes. Not when it conflicts with being a good King, obviously, but still.
-Said in real time response: "OH SHIT, noises on the monitor are NO GOOD."
-Jack/Joe handholding. I died. I am not ashamed to say it.
-"My mom let me wear shorts". That line was both hilarious and really well thought out in terms of Michelle's character, I think.
-*HANDS* The symbolism, gah! David's pressing her up against her childhood fear which is actually an old school depiction of the monarchy. YESSSSS.
-That Lady In Black/Sabbath Queen/Death/Fate?/WTF was terrifying. Shit.
-More awesome layered symbolism! He sees her in the mirror! God I don't have time to dissect the layers of that right now.
-Dude, when Rose makes threats, I personally shake in my shoes. I don't know WHY her brother does not follow suit.
-DAVID GOOD FREAKING LORD DON'T YOU DARE TAKE THOSE PICTURES YOUNG MAN!! DO YOU THINK NAKED PICTURES OF THE PRINCESS WILL STAY HIDDEN FOREVER?!! ARE YOU STUPIDER THAN YOU ARE PRETTY??
-Rose is a fantastic name for her. Well done, Kings, well done.
- She's promised to God. That is, really, so much better than anything I could have thought of. A really, actually, not just melodramatic but freaking *tragic* romance, oh how I have longed for you.
-Silas in the dark with a gun will never not be awesome.
-Smart Andrew, and yet WOAH Rose, why do you hate him? Please tell me soon, Kings!
-"You are the only real thing I've ever touched." God damn, that's true. Jack, my poor boy, you are so power hungry and so, so in love. Fucked, is what you are. *pets him*
- +1 point to Kings for it actually being cold when David talks. People huddled in coats outside with no fog rising from their breath irritate me more than many other things.
- Please don't keep things from Silas, please. HE KNOWS.
-I wish I could see that picture that has his bloody hand print on it!
-OH DAMN, DAVID AT THE PIANO. Trufax: The first thing I thought was "That had better not be the piano from the first episode, you bastards. This show is too good to ruin with continuity errors."
I am, in conclusion, so saddened that every show I like to this degree is canceled with exception (God willing) of Dexter.
