I have recently got involved in a nascent debate with a fucking fool person about Margaret Sanger. As an antichoicer, the fucking fool person has come out with the usual horseshit about how Sanger was a racist, just wanted to get rid of all black people, etc etc.

I have stayed away from the debate for a few days because I don't want to lose my rag,

I thought of that but I actually couldn't face reading the shit he wrote again. But you're right, it's hard to see how anyone could help if they actually don't know what's going on.

Instead of accidentally posting it twice to my journal, I should have posted it once and added that I'd cross-posted to a community frequented by people who already know about Margaret Sanger and the lies that are routinely told about her, and therefore don't need to be told exactly what the other guy is saying - they know which quotes he will have inaccurately attributed to her and the nature of the accusations he will have made. They're very standard.
All I really want is help with the phrasing.

Now I'm going to go look at the replies I got in the community - which will no doubt all say exactly what you said...

But yes, I was trying to post to aborshunparty and just cocked up the really, really simple procedure. I wish I knew how to edit my fecking journal but I think I might actually be too lazy to learn.

The only advice I can give is to not stress yourself over it. There are people that couldn't get the point even if you tried to use a jackhammer on their skull to enforce it, and this individual sounds like one of them. I've dealt with my share of prolifers who demand statistics and proof without providing any of their own, and some of them like to see how much they can make you dance for them.

With such people, no amount of evidence will ever be enough. They will continue to demand more and laugh while you spend hours providing research for them. Meanwhile, they will never provide solid evidence to back their own claims. These people just like to see how high and far they can get you to jump. Not worth it.

You're right, of course.

It just makes me feel so impotent, though, you know? And I really feel like I'm ceding the point when I fail to address it, and I hate doing that because, goddamnit, it's a point of fact: Sanger was NOT a racist, by any stretch of the imagination. I think that's also the reason why seeing people say she was makes me so angry: because there is simply no excuse for that level of ignorance. The information is out there and it took me less than 30 seconds to find it - literally.
