A reunion

Aug 22, 2006 23:57

King hadn't been able to keep track of the days too well, but he was pretty sure it was close to a week before he eventually got back to the compound. He was more than glad to leave dino territory behind, and especially glad to finally have Billy properly taken care of in the clinic. King had refused any care himself, because really, he was fine. Frannie could tell there was someone hovering in the doorway and she wished that these people would just knock or clear their throats or something. So many people had come to the IPD office since the hurricane and just stood there, waiting for her to help them.

"If you're here to report someone that's still missing, just take a seat," she said, gesturing at the other chair without looking up. There were still names on the list that belonged to people she was worried about, and she wasn't really doing paperwork so much as she was making plans to go out looking for Fraser, Billy and King.

"My replacement is going to be here right away, so you can--" Frannie looked up then and her sentence was cut off sharply.

"Your mountie's back." It was all King could think of to say, but it was probably something she needed to hear. If Frannie had been safe back at the compound the whole time, she must've been worried about people she knew. It was entirely possible she knew Fraser was back already, but King felt the need to share the information anyway. Fraser was back, Billy was back, and now King was back too. And from what King had heard, probably the last to actually return.

And now, standing in the doorway, he thought that Frannie was possibly the prettiest thing he'd seen in a good long awhile. It wasn't something that showed much on his face, but he was definitely thinking it. And it didn't surprise him as much as it confirmed how he really felt about the situation. He was glad to be back. And he was glad to see Frannie.

That snapped Frannie out of her daze and she stood up from her desk quickly, nearly knocking her chair over. "He came back with you?" she asked, her palms pressed against her paperwork as she tried to figure out what to do. She'd been so worried about him, scared that he was dead or worse. Scared that he'd been taken from the island like Turnbull, but now he was standing there in the door to the office like nothing had happened.

"When did you get back?" she asked, finally lifting her hands from her papers. She still didn't know what to do and she hesitated before coming around the desk to look at him.

"Just now, sort of," King replied, watching as she came around the desk, his expression not revealing much. She was the only one out of the two of them that had moved, and King was grateful because he was pretty sure all he would've done was stand there and stare. "This guy, Billy, he came back with us too."

"Billy's back, too," Frannie said, sounding relieved. That was good. It was all good. Fraser was back and Billy was back and King was back, and as far as she could tell, they were all alive. Her gaze flickered from King, back down to her paperwork, then back up at him.

"I was scared the island had taken you away," she admitted quietly, then closed the distance between them and hugged him tightly. She didn't care if he hugged her back or if he pushed her away, she just wanted him to know that she was glad to see him.

King let out an exhale of breath when she hugged him, just letting her do it for a moment before he pulled his arms around her back. He hugged her back tightly, her body warm and comforting against his own. He was pretty sure he was smelling somewhat unpleasant at the moment, but that was okay.

He pressed his lips to her forehead a moment later, letting the kiss linger, his eyes closing. It had been awhile since he'd been able to express affection this way, not because he couldn't, but because there was no one he had cared to give it to. He wanted to tell her as much, but things like that weren't expressed very well with words. Showing her was a much better option.

"I was so, so scared," Frannie repeated, her eyes closing when she felt his lips on her forehead. The island was so weird that way, giving her Fraser and her family, but not quite in the same way she'd had them back home. And then King, someone Frannie never would have thought she'd find anything in common with, but there was something undeniable that made her think about him all the time.

"Are you okay?" she asked after a moment, pulling back a bit so she could look up at him. "You smell like you've been rolling in sewage."

"I'm fine," King said, looking down at her when she had pulled back. "And it's dinosaur, not sewage, but I guess we shouldn't rule out the possibility." Who knows what King had been trudging around in out there.

Unfortunately for King, he hadn't really had a chance to shower when he had been looking after Billy, though he had wanted one. He wasn't used to just plain smelling bad. "I should probably get washed up, huh?"

Dinosaur. Ew. But even that wasn't enough to make Frannie pull away and she raised her hands to his face, tilting his head slightly as if she were checking for scratches or something that would prove he wasn't fine. He'd been gone for too long to be completely, one hundred percent okay.

"You probably should get washed up," she agreed, then raised up onto her toes and closed her eyes before kissing him. Dinosaur smell be damned, she had missed him and she had worried and she wanted to. So she would.

King hadn't moved much, but he let Frannie move his face around. She was apparently looking for head wounds or something, which thankfully, he didn't have. It was nice, anyhow, to be fussed over.

When she kissed him though, he closed his eyes again. There was a brief pause before he adjusted, then raised his hand to the back her neck, kissing her back firmly. It was kind of their first official real kiss, and he'd be damned if it wasn't going to be a hell of a good one.

He smelled bad and Frannie was pretty sure he was covered in something she never wanted to put a name to, but in her mind, it was perfect. She slipped her arms around his neck, pressing close to him as they kissed, hoping no one decided they desperately needed the help of the IPD at that very moment, because she would probably slam the door in their face.

King pulled his arms back around the small of Frannie's back, squeezing her tightly as they kissed. He kissed her deeply, wetly, his head tilted slightly to the side. He was into it, definitely, and when he was into something, well, there wasn't much that was going to get him off course. And right now, he was definitely into Frannie.

What he shouldn't've been into at the moment though, was sex, but that couldn't much be helped. Yeah, he smelled like a fuckin' garbage dump, and that would be rectified, but he hadn't really had a woman in what seemed like for fucking ever. Problem was, there wasn't really any place to do it.

Fuck it, he'd figure it out later. He grabbed Frannie up easily enough, gripping her under the thighs, then pushed her back until she was seated on the desk. It was easier for both of them this way. He continued to kiss her, much more insistent now.

Frannie was an optimist and she tried to see the best of every situation, but the best she'd been able to see in this situation was a kiss before he fled to clean the dino gunk off. She was sure not expecting him to kiss her like he was and she let out a little noise of surprise when he lifted her onto the desk, then wrapped her arms around him tighter.

Part of her -- a very, very small part -- was wondering what would happen if someone needed the IPD and came into the office right at that moment. Or what would happen if Ray or her brother needed her for something. The rest of her didn't much care and she whimpered quietly, pushing her hands into King's hair.

When Frannie tightened her grip, King responded with a push, thunking Frannie down against the desk. He wasn't particularly rough about it, but he did mean business, and if she couldn't take it, he was sure she'd let him know. Her hands were in his hair and he liked that so he pressed himself down against her, pinning her there, kissing her without bothering to take a breather.

King brought a hand back and ran it up her bare thigh, palm sliding across the smooth skin before he gripped her somewhere under the knee. He tugged her leg over his hip and pressed his own hips between her legs. He was hard, ready to go, despite the fact that they probably couldn't actually have sex here. King didn't care at the moment though, his primary interest was letting Frannie know how much he wanted her.

There had been about a thousand ways she'd imagined this situation happening, a thousand different reactions from King, a thousand different reactions from her, and only about two of them had measured up to this. Considering how gentle he'd always been with her before, this was different, this was forceful and Frannie might have been a modern woman who would show up at a man's house in her underwear, but she still loved a guy who knew what he wanted. It really was straight out of a romance novel to her, not that she'd ever really admit that aloud.

Her heartbeat was racing already and she tightened her leg over his hip when he pressed up against her, giving a surprised moan at the feel of him there. It had been a long time, since before her divorce, and there was suddenly nothing she wanted more than to get him out of all his stinky, dinosaur gunk covered clothes. One of the hands in King's hair slid down to his shoulder, squeezing hard as they kissed.

King rocked against Frannie, just a little, an almost thrust as he pressed down against her, the desk creaking under their weight. It was probably an old desk, one of which King didn't really want to test the durability of. He pulled his mouth from Frannie's a moment later, breathing hard and feeling light, but still in a considerable amount of control considering the circumstances ( ... )
