Life is short my ass.
Try doing a daily journal of two-hundred words.
My students do it - supposedly - for 90 days. (The kids in the yearlong classes do 180.) So this is Leadership By Example.
I’ve done it since ’04.
And let me tell you:
My high school drafting instructor had a poster on his classroom wall:
“Sometimes I just sits and thinks and sometimes I just sits.”

And I look at this screen most mornings, this document window, this crisp whiteness, a virgin snowfield of pixels.

It’s tough.
Especially when one surrenders to the “internal editor” as described by Natalie Goldberg in Writing Down the Bones.

So much I won’t write here, appropriately so, seeing as it is a public forum.

Some of you thinking, Damn, he’s fairly blunt here; what has he left unsaid?

I’ve spared you from the poetry inspired by Erato and her darker aspects, I’ll tell you that much.

I mean this as a way of saying I’m Meeting The Quota But You Ain’t Seeing That.
