Eddard, I do hope you haven't turned cloak and ran with your tail between your legs too. It would be uncharacteristic of you. If you're anything like the Lord Stark I knew, you'd sooner lose your head ( Read more... )

Actually, there are a few things I would like to talk to your about. First and foremost, Angeal’s list is out of date. Is it alright if I edit it? I know Ada was keeping the text but it needs to be updated as soon as possible.

Secondly, we’re running out of places to house people. Well, hospitable places anyway. A lot of the apartments need a little sprucing up and I’d like to start building some kind of stock room. Clothes, blankets, candles, anything someone new to the city night need. I know we don’t have very many supplies as it is but they have even less.

Things have quieted down a little bit so I’d like to lead a expedition to try and unearth anything we haven’t already recovered from the less-touched ruins. I won’t need much, just some man power.

I was also talking to Sakura and she mentioned a concern that there is not a regularly scheduled medic on duty. This is a big problem and we agree that a medic should travel in every unit if possible. I know she is gathering anyone with the know-how and planning on teaching basic skills to anyone but I haven’t heard about any dates. I think that the entire force should attend.

One more thing, what ever happened to the disciplinary committee? There was a lot of talk but no action. I feel like we’re lacking organization and I don’t like it, especially when so many people are counting on us.

By all means. Such will be for the best, anyway. There was a bestiary as well we may want to take note of, and edit accordingly. They do enjoy throwing new things at us, after all.

As for housing, I know Lady Zelda has been dealing predominantly with that. We do need more of this place renovated it seems. You may wish to speak to the other leaders of stock, we all seem to have our own that may be better placed together.

As for man power, that I can give you. I'll put together a team for you, if you wish, or would you prefer to do so yourself?

Medical training should be made a priority, I admit. If the lady Sakura is organizing such, let her know we will help if we can or, at the least, be very willing to learn. Hopefully it comes easier to some than swordplay.

As for your final point, my lady, I'm not sure. A lot of talk but no action seems to be the way of things here. But you are right, and I think we all agree with you. The only problem, of course, is getting people to act.

Thank you.

You're a person. You're a person in charge of people, can't you make them?

[A sigh]

People can be lazy as much as they want, but they're going to go cold and hungry and leave everyone else to pick up the slack. I'm not ok with this. If they are unmotivated, then it's our job as the community leaders to motivate them. Do you see what I mean? If we're lacking the drive and organization to lead people, we can't expect them to do anything either. As it stands now, people look up to the Task Force to keep the peace, and set a good example for daily life. If we don't do that, then what good are we?

It's just my opinion but most of the problem was deciding who was supposed to lead the court, right? People were afraid of bias because of the three way split between Lady Zelda, President Rufus, and yourself. Wouldn't it be easier if all three of you sat on a High Council together? Three is enough to pass judgment and break a tie in voting. Besides, it eliminates any threat of a bias.

Wouldn't that solve the problem?

I don't particularly mind who comes with me to look for things but I'd like someone small enough to fit into tight spaces and one or two strong enough to carry anything particularly heavy.

Medical training should be a priority, Jaime. No 'if's, 'ands', or 'but's. It just needs to happen and we all need to learn at least basic first aid.

I'm sorry for getting upset but people are crying for change and not doing anything and I'm getting sick of it.

No, I bloody can't. Because nobody listens. Nobody heeds it. It's the same with Zelda, with Rufus, with all the 'leaders'. It's the same with everyone...

[The brilliance, the brittle gold has fallen from his tone. He sounds terse and weary and frustrated, bitter.]

Seven hells, I know. I know. How can anybody not know? How can anybody here not know we need unity and all those other filthy words? We need to stand together, because we're all each other have. Gods, this place is - was - is more home to me than Westeros by now. People have started new lives here. Friends, lovers, we have it, we're all willing to fight for it, why is it so difficult for us to fight as one gods-be-damned army?

It's cowardice! It's naked fucking cowardice and why are all the brave succumbing to it? Why are we all just lying back, sitting down, watching it all and crying for help we're doing nothing to get.

I'm a sword, not a head. I know that. Always have. That was always someone else. The Warrior was my god and damn the rest. And even I can see it! Instead we all work in our own little circles and to our own agendas and why? How will it benefit us when we're doomed if we don't stand together?

[He wills himself to something calmer, closer to reason.]

When Zelda got that crown everybody ignores, she wanted a High Council of sorts. Me, maybe the deputy, Rufus, a few others to represent people. But Rufus won't work with her since she insisted on checking him. Do you know he tried to buy us as his own private army, shortly before everybody decided we were Zelda's?

Seven Hells. Claire.

There has to be a way to get round it. Since when did I take to feeling so sorry for myself?

[He's angry again, at himself, at everything, but the more he speaks the more he forges it into a kind of steely hope.]

You know it. I know it. All of us know it. How do we make it happen? How do we make ourselves stand up and stand beside each other?
