So I finished work at 4Poyntz almost two weeks ago, and not having to deal with support every day has been fantastic. I managed to get an interview at the place I applied, and apparently did quite well. However, they said they planned to make a decision last week, and I haven't heard anything, so, much as I hate to not think positive, at this point, I'm expecting a form letter sometime in the next little while.
So, back to Chapters it is. A while ago, while I was still at 4Poyntz, I went in to Gloucester talk to D, one of the managers there, who had been a manager when I was at Rideau. He was more than happy to have me, but it was contingent on Don not getting the assistant manager job he'd just applied for there. Of course, he did get it, because he's awesome (I believe it's been made official now, so I'm not giving anything away that I shouldn't), so I went in to Rideau the other day, and talked to T, the GM there. He was also more than happy to have me, and promised to call me back yesterday after figuring stuff out with one of the other managers. He didn't, though, which has turned out to be his loss, because K, the GM at Gloucester (who was also a manager at Rideau when I was there), decided that I can work there, as long as it's a) not in any of Don's departments, and b) only for the season. Which suits me just fine. She also basically told me that I can start as soon as it's convenient for me, and that I can set my own hours (the advantages of tasking, as opposed to customer service, where one must work around other people's schedules in order to ensure proper coverage). So I called Rideau back and pulled the plug on that. I feel a little bad, because I really do like T, but hey. You snooze, you lose. He didn't get back to me when he said he would, so K beat him to it.
So that's what's up at the moment. Tomorrow I plan to visit a temp agency or two to see about getting things in motion for finding me a job in the new year, and Saturday, I'll start at Chapters after choir. And with a cheque waiting for me in Kanata, hopefully I'll be able to sleep properly tonight, rather than being kept up by financial worries.
