For the most part, it was good, despite this year's general December funk (I've decided to blame the weather). Had brunch with Alex & Sean on Sunday, then headed over to my parents' with Glenn in tow. Spent the night and the following day there, then came home to crash.
Highlights included: Family, of course, especially my brother, since he lives in Waterloo and I rarely get to see him. He's here until the 2nd, so I may actually get to see him more than once this trip, which is also cool. Also my parents, of course, and my sister and brother-in-law, and my aunt and uncle for a bit, and Grampa dropped by briefly as well. As usual, having a leisurely day with them of gift-opening and socializing was lovely. And then there was dinner, which was also delicious as always.
Gift highlights included the final season of Alias (I actually missed the last few episodes, and have been studiously avoiding even reading anything about them, so I don't actually even know how it all ends), the original cast recording of Starlight Express (this is a big deal. We used to have the tapes of this, but then they went and rewrote the show, and the new version is not nearly as good. This is the original, and I seriously squealed when I opened it. So excited.), and a pen and pencil set turned for me by my brother-in-law. They're gorgeous. He used some kind of bowling ball (?) wood or something, I'm not too sure exactly what it is. But it's purplish and a little iridescent almost. Love them.
Also, the satellite radio I got for Fuzzy went over very well. He seems to quite like it, so I'm very happy about that.
Only lowlight of the evening was when Fuzzy started choking at te dinner table. I've learned that I'm apparently a useless twit in such a situation, because I stood there in a panic, trying not to hyperventilate, or just flip right out. Fortunately my brother-in-law is much less of a spaz, and was able to evict the offending item, thus saving Fuzzy and Christmas.
Aside from that, though, everything was good and now I have a nice new year's to look forward to, and then the rest of winter. Merry Christmas, even if it's now over...
