My keyboard is sitting in a tray of water
I've had several knowledgeable people advise this, but it still just seems wrong. Hopefully, though, it will solve the larger problem, because that's even wronger.
You see, after four and a half years, it finally happened. I dumped coffee into my computer. Thank god it's designed as well as it is, and nothing really got past the keyboard, but it's still a giant pain, because my number lock is now locked on. The soaking thing is my best option, now that I have successfully managed to detach the keyboard (Thanx, Gerry, who's not reading this!), and I'm praying that works, because otherwise I'll have to decide between replacing the expensive but kinda sorta affordable keyboard on my pretty much obsolete machine, or replacing my baby altogether, which I will need to do fairly soon, but right now is just not the best time. So please join me in crossing your fingers and/or praying to your deity of choice that my keyboard recovers.
