I am sitting in my office today and our residence idiot walks in and decides to discuss out in the open why he doesn't like Caretta Scott-King. Well he didn't want to tell, because it would offend someone in the office (he looks at me). He says that he doesn't like Caretta, because she supports gay marriage and that's not what her husband Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would have supported. My boss can see that I am getting annoyed even though I am writing a paper, but the guy is right next to me and I just want to reach out and throw him. So my boss decides that I should go into his office and finish the paper. He comes up to me later and agrees that the conversation was dumb and sympathizes that it is hard to listen to people who don't know what they are talking about. It still annoys me though, because I hear people complaining about the lack of equality all of the time, I am tired of listening to them say that they should have everything and other groups shouldn't. Marriage is no longer the religious establishment that tradition has held so dear. It is now a legal contract, full of loop-holes and property arrangements. I don't like to feel as though I am the leftovers in the toilet that is about to be flushed and there is no way for me to come back.
