My cat came home! Well I never wrote to say she was gone, so here's the story.

On sunday I went to Sodus Point with a friend and took a bunch of pictures. When we came home several hours later I was about to go upstairs when I noticed the back door was open. I went all over the house looking for cats and didn't see any. Crap. Then Wicket showed up, he must have been hiding in the basement, but Ford was no where to be found. :( Whenever I was home I would go out back and check to see if she was around; shaking her cat food bag to see if that would entice her.

Sunday night Jen and I both had dreams that we had found her. In my dream Jen went to pet her and she made a growl that I interpretted as pain, like she'd been injured, and she didn't want to be touched.

There was no sign of her until this morning at 4am. I'd been feeling sick all day monday and I was really bundled up. I woke up because I has too hot and had to use the bathroom. I prayed she'd come home soon. I reached for my socks and just finished putting them on when I heard a pretty nasty cat fight outside. #@%&! I ran downstairs as fast as I could and opened the backdoor: silence. I walked around the house once. All I saw was a small black cat, about Ford's size, across the street under a car. I went back inside to put on my hoodie and sneakers, and get my flashlight (one million candle power *manly grunt* oh oh oh, more power!). I walked around once more and checked the the backyard of the neighboring(vacant) house. I went to the backyard, saw that black cat again but it ran away, and sat on the pile of new roofing shingles the roofers have. I would wait for her.

Two or three minutes later I heard meowing; only it didn't sound like she was on the ground. I shone my light on the tree in the backyard and there she was, on a branch twenty feet high. Aw, crap. There is a long ladder inside so I went to see if I could get it myself without waking everyone up. Nope, too heavy. So I went back out to think and to be there so she would know I didn't forget her. When I get back she was on the lowest branch, still meowing like I've never heard before; almost crying. Well this was an improvement. I thought I might be able to reach her with a step ladder now. So I got that and went back out. I could touch her if I wanted to, but I still couldn't safely get her down. She kept looking over at something. I shone my light and there were eyes looking at us from about 50 feet away. That damn black cat. I moved closer to it to scare it away.

After trying a few things to get her down she eventually followed the length of the branch, which curved down, and got close enough to the ground that she dared to jump, which she did. There are a lot of sticks and dead branches laying on the ground but I don't think she got hurt too much, but she did run away. I figured she was just worked up from jumping out of a tree, so I put everything away and sat back down and waited. After a few minutes I heard her meowing faintly so I responded by meowing back. I was looking around for her but didn't see anything, then all of a sudden she's right next to me. So she followed me to the door and went in.

She's happy to be home. I put some food in her dish, but she wants attention too. She keeps going back and forth between me sitting here typing and her food. :)

Yay so I'm happy, but I need to get back to bed. I'll post those pictures I took as soon as I get the chance.
