Ok not a great day, and it just got worse. Had to drive to Port Huron to get a coffee table that should have been in weeks ago, and then it got delivered to another store. Anyway while driving home Lydia and I stopped in Royal Oak to have lunch. We ate at Memphis Smoke, and it was good. Afterwards we were gonna get ice cream, and stop at the Game ( Read more... )

Well, this had nothing to do with what I said. They take them out because people steal stuff all the time. If it was a sticker on the case than its more likely that it was a manufacturing error not a store error.

Also you calling the CSR and giving a negative report just totally screwed Danielle who had nothing to do with what happened. Now she gets to get yelled at.

I'd like to believe it was a manufacturer error, however the package was opened when we took it up to the register. You know most place just put a piece of styrofoam in the jacket, instead leaving the jewel box in there. Regardless, the guy that waited on us thoroughly examed the container and its contents, before selling it to us. If he was up on his product (and please don't say no one would do that getting paid low wages, thats BS, you have pride in your work or you don't) he would have known exactly where to find it. I don't see how this screws Danielle when she wasn't even working, of course there probably like my company where if one person makes one tiny little error, they tell everyone how they aren't doing their jobs, but thats life.

I guess they found it, the guy that sold it to you was just an idiot, no excuses for him.

It screws Danielle and her boss because they are the manager and assistant manager, and each store is ranked. Within the last week they received a complaint from some ass who did not know what he was talking about and because of that it dropped their store ranking from 4th to 40th.

According to the regional manager, having this second complaint in two weeks when they have not had a complaint in months will effectively disqualify Danielle from a promotion for some time, regardless of if she did it or not, she is still one of the two store managers.

Well if they did find it, then I have a legitimate gripe. I'm sorry if the Game Stop internal dynamics are so fucked up that something like that could cost her a promotion, but I'm still pissed. If something a store or restaurant does pisses you off, you complain, I don't see how this is any different. Off topic of this you need to call me back. It's actually slightly important.

I didn't call her boss. I went to the GameStop Survey website at the bottom of my receipt. I did not intentionally call her boss, or do anything to purposely get her in trouble. I bought a product from a store, with the direct plan of immediately going home and playing it. However, when I got home there was no product key. ( I called the store hoping that someone had maybe just forgotten to put it in the box), when I did, Matt answered the phone, told me to check 3 different places, and then said, oh well nothing I can bring it back. That set me off. That's when I posted the survey. Yes she got us a Wii and I am greatful for that, but I didn't ask her to go against company policy to get it, nor would I ever expect her to. I'm sorry that it comes down on her because there was a complaint, but if it had not been it it the problem would still occur, just with someone else.
