Tuesday drove from Boston to Philadelphia and had lunch with Andrea's friend Heather. We got hit as we were turning from a right turn lane by a guy who decided to go around us and turn from the center lane, it was superficial and the guy drove away, we got his plate and filed a police report. Then we drove from Philly to just outside Raliegh NC. This just in, Delaware is worthless.
Wednesday we drove from NC to Savannah GA, on the way there are signs starting about 40 miles out from SC for South of the Border, which I cannot describe, I will post pictures of it when i get back. This just in, South Carolina is also useless, but much larger than Delaware. Savannah was absolutely beautiful, very small town, allegedly there is an old and new Savannah, we explored old and it was extremely pretty. Walking down one street there were large squares with statues and gardens and stuff. We had lunch at a place called the Six Pence Pub, which apparently is featured breifly in a Julia Roberts movie, but I don't know which one.
We hung out in Savannah for a couple of hours then got back on the road, we pulled into Punta Gorda, FL around 2:30am.
Thursday we just kind of wasted, I wasn't feeling all the well and was wicked spacey, we did some food shopping and ate at a cracker barrel, Andrea's GPS sent us to an empty lot and claimed it was a grocery store, we asked a nice young couple if they knew where the Publix was, apparently there used to be one in that lot but it moved. I surmised that THEY must have been the grocery store in disguise, and that we should hand them our list and wait for them to bring us our gorceries, I was outvoted.
Friday we travelled to the Everglades, about 1:45 south of where we are. We took a totally sweet airboat ride and saw a bunch of wild aligators, and then a few hundred captive ones. Then we took a swamp buggy tour and a stroll through a small zoo. After that we drove back to Fort Myers and picked up Sanford from the Airport.
Last night we played some Fluxx and Phase 10 and I called it an early night around midnight.
Today saw us up and out around 1 and headed to Tampa, we met up with Jay Bartow and his wife for Lunch at the Bahama Breeze near the Airport (he and his wife are leaving for a cruise out of Tampa tomorrow). We spent about 3 hours dining drinking and chatting, it was a really good time then drove back, now we're watching Waterworld.
So far Florida has been absoutlely beautiful weather wise, 70's every day sixty ish at night.
That's your half time report from sunny Punta Gorda FL. Stay tuned for our post game show Tuesday night from Saugus. Complete with pictures.
