The Pulse of Radio reports that a leaked online consumer response survey may have provided clues to which artists will be represented on Guitar Hero: World Tour, the next installment in the hugely successful video game series. According to Kotaku.com, the survey, generated by a market research firm, indicated that playable digital versions of Ozzy Osbourne, SMASHING PUMPKINS leader Billy Corgan, PARAMORE singer Hayley Williams, former BLINK-182 drummer Travis Barker, Jimi Hendrix, Sting and others could all possibly appear in the game. Music from KORN, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, INTERPOL and, making their Guitar Hero debut, TOOL might show up as well.
The survey says that the game will feature 85 songs, with FOO FIGHTERS, MUSE and THE DOORS also mentioned.
The lineup of Guitar Hero: World Tour has yet to be confirmed.
Photos of Billy Corgan in a motion capture suit recently surfaced online, fueling speculation that an avatar of him would appear in an upcoming game.
The first artist-specific version of the game, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, debuted this week, with rumors circulating that Guitar Hero: Metallica will arrive early next year.
In other news, another leaked survey indicates that AC/DC could be a primary artist featured on Rock Band 2, a vastly improved upgrade of the blockbuster game that will be first be available on XBox 360 in September before moving to other systems later in the year.
