Man, I don't want to be at work today. It's freaking beautiful out. Ahh well, whatchagonnado? So saturday night was Patrick's house warming party, which was a blast, me, Kt, Blinky and Katie headed up around six, I grabbed a 24 of summer they grabbed some misc beer and we hit Peabody like a bulldozer.
There was a great turnout, not even going to try and list everyone who was there cause I'm sure I'll forget. I do have some pics that I will post when I'm at home. Me and Blinky played one game of beer pong against Marc and Joey and got them down to one cup but we couldn't seal the deal. Later we played against Patrick and JB and went into overtime but couldn't pull that one down either. We also played this great game called Cornhole. It's like horseshoes with beanbags, instead of a pole you have a hole cut into a ramp of wood. If you get it on the wood it's one point, in the hole is three, but each teams points cancel the others out, you each throw four bags each turn, so say I hit 3 points and you hit two I'd net 1. Lot of fun, I wasn't having luck underhand so I started throwing them like a football, on my first shot I hit the cornhole dead on, after that it wasn't so good, but it was a hell of a shot.
Sunday we had a BBQ for mothers day, which was nice, I did most of the grilling and if I do say so myself the steak was off the hook. Watched Batman sunday night cause Kt didn't think she'd seen it. Jack Nicholson is a great Joker, can't wait for the Heath Ledger adaptation.
Yesterday after work Kt and I headed into Boston for The Cure, we met up with Christina and her friend Will for a couple drinks at this place called T's Pub. It was decent, big Tvs, kinda crowded though, took twenty minutes to wade to the bar for the second round. Then we hit the arena went our seperate ways and then it was time for The Cure.
This is the third time i've seen them, and the first time indoors. They played for three hours! Damn, Robert Smith is 49 years old and he can put on a three hour show. That's impressive. They played a really good assortment of songs, From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea and A Forest are my two favorite Cure songs, and I got both of them. They also closed with a really almost heavy version of Killing an Arab, which was amazing and a great way to end a show.
Other highlights were The Walk which sounded a bit different then normal but really good. Hot Hot Hot! And the wall of noise that was 100 years. Setlist below for those interested I forget which website I found it on. I think I have to say the Cure is one of my top 5 all time live bands.
