It's been almost four months since I last updated this thing. Where does the time go?
At any rate, a lot's happened since last I updated. I won't bore you with the intimate details of the past four months, but I'll still post the highlights.
Well, first and foremost (always), there's Michelle. She and I have had a tumultuous summer, both together and apart. Since last I updated, I went to Connecticut in May for her birthday (which I made as kickass as I could manage), she came down to stay for a while, we went to a Tool concert, and overall we enjoyed each other's company immensely. She came back down last month, and again we enjoyed it in ways that I cannot begin to describe. And, in less than two weeks, I'll be seeing her again. I really, really, really can't wait.
Hmm, what else? School, I guess. I went to school over the summer, and I managed to get a couple good grades to push me a little further along in my scholastic career. Overall, it was worth it. Now, I'm gearing up for the fall semester (which starts Monday). Aside from a few Literature courses, I'll also be learning Hebrew. I need a foreign language if I plan to get a B.A. (which I'm not sure on, but it doesn't hurt), plus I've always wanted to learn Hebrew.
Work's going well right now. It's kind of meh-ish, but it's worth it. Only one out of my three bosses is actually decent in any capacity, but that's the working world for you. One of the bad ones claims he's on his way out to go become a cop, but -- in the world of retail -- you never know what to believe. So, I'm not exactly getting my hopes up. Pretty soon, I'm going to request that I be pushed back to 5:00 in the a.m. so that it'll make going to school a little easier on me. Hopefully, we can work it out so that I can do that. Because, frankly, I'm not sure how I'll survive the semester otherwise.
Saving the best for last*, my writing. Right now, I'm starting up a writing project that I've had in me since the eighth grade. It's taken on various incarnations over the past several years, and I'm finally starting to conceive of a more concrete way of actualizing the story, so I'm really excited about it. Wish me luck.
Well, I don't have much else. Right now, I'm just holding out for a few things: seeing Michelle again, more solid success in my writing efforts, the Heroes Season 1 DVD (don't make fun of me), and (finally) school.
Kol Tuv,
J
