Flies

The past couple of nights, I've had a large amount of fruit flies in my room and apartment.

They're definitely coming from outside, as we don't have fruit in the place right now. They're hovering around the welcome light in front of our door, so I think they get in when we enter the apartment. Maybe through the mail slot too.

Two nights ago, I noticed some flies, but I was able to kill a bunch of them. (Note that fruit flies are the little tiny kind, not houseflies.) Last night was REALLY bad -- they were noticeable all around on the walls, so I actually turned on my sunlamp and left it on my desk overnight. In the morning there was a fly graveyard on my desk, from the burned bodies of the little bastards flying into the sun (see what I did there?).

This morning I vacuumed everything like crazy and I seem to have gotten rid of all the fly carcasses, but there are still a few more fresh flies getting in. I've turned on my lamp and there are about 20 dead ones already. I think that's most of them though. I'll check in the morning.

I'm not sure how to get rid of them besides figuring out where the source is. It has to be outside, but there are no fruit-bearing trees. Where the hell are they breeding?
