I’m staying at my dad’s for the second night this week, and it’s actually been pretty fun. I’ve been eating regularly, and rather than laying around the house feeling non-productive, I’ve been able to keep my busy here without feeling like a piece of shit at the end of the day. Since I’ve been working here, I’ve eaten filet minion, fried chicken, and ribs. The ribs aren’t too surprising, but considering that I usually throw in a frozen pizza, it’s been pretty damn good! On the way here on Tuesday, it was snowing really bad (freezing rain to be exact) and was bad enough that Tiffany was out of school for the day. I even went through Jefferson City rather than going through “the back way” to get here. On the way to Jefferson City, I spun out and did a 360 on the highway. I was going 70, so it happened really really fast. My car hit the front passenger side on a guardrail, and then spun around really fast and fit the far left corner on the passenger’s side as well. When it happened, my car was in the middle of the highway, so I tried pressing on the accelerator, but it was like my car was in neutral… I then got out of the car so I could push it, because I was scarred that someone was going to hit me. As soon as I got out, I saw a truck that was behind me that had spun out too against a guardrail. While the guy got out to see how I was, three more cars wrecked. I was definitely the luckiest, I had hardly any damage. I called 911, and before the highway patrol got where I was, one of the cars had driven off, leaving a total of 4 of us. I had never been in a wreck like this, and it was bad enough that traffic was unable to get around where we were. They had to wait for about 20-25 minutes since the truck and the other car had to get towed. Luckily no one was hurt, and my car was able to drive out of it okay. It was definitely something that left me shook up for the rest of the day, and I think it scared my parents a little too. Tonight it’s also raining, and I just went out to get fish to thaw out and almost slipped on the ground. Fucking ice.
