jus got back from Laughlin, NV. it was a long needed vacation from the monotony of my summer.
Laughlin is tight and much tighter than i remember it. it is a white trash paradise, and i love it. the actual city is pretty chill, just a bunch of sunburnt americans gambling, drinkin, and havin a good time. Laughlin is a city where going out to a nice resturant means going to the $5.99 Prime Rib Room, and "dressing up" means wearing a t-shirt with sleaves. aside from that, we spent every day at Lake Mohave which is 10 minutes upstream from Laughlin (which sits on the Colorado River).
so every day we went to the lake and made "camp" at our claim in this nice sandy cove. it was 130+ degrees while we were there, and the water was a cool 75-85 degrees. i spent most of the day sitting in a lawn chair submurged in 3 feet of water with an umbrella pitched over me. other than that wakeboarding, tubing, fishing, jet ski'in and just hangin. our friend has a badass boat that can just kick about any boats ass that was out there. i know most of you own euro/asian cars so deal with this, for all you American Purist just close your eyes, no dont close your eyes, just read this: 502 Chevy engine stroked to a 540 cubic inch, Dart aluminum heads, 5 inch exhaust, 1050 cfm holly carb that feeds into a 6-71 Weiland Blower. oh and i almost forgot the Nitrous Oxide injection. we made some runs and we were hittin low 90's but the boat is capible of goin 100+ mph which is very rare territory for boats. so yea the trip was fun, we may be purchasing some jet skis soon, which would be pretty cool.
on one final note, i was the only one that i know of from the trip that came out with a profit at the casinos. after carefully selecting a slot machine that had seen much use from this one woman, i took advantage when she went to get coffee. 2 quarters went in, on the first pull, nothing, but on the second pull, i cashed in and won 6 bucks. take that Riverside Resort and Casino!
