Monthly Update

My new job is really picking up. I feel like im not being treated as a Coop anymore but as a Jr. Engineer. Its really gratifying seeing your work in bids, and submittals to contractors and owners. I dont even mind wearing a shirt and tie everyday.

So I have been seeing Danielle for about two weeks now. Things are going pretty well, im confused on a couple parts but I am generally happy. Formal is coming up next week, it should be a really good time.

Last Saturday was the Pipino Run, I was content with my numbers. I got 24 mins which leaves me with about a 7:45 split time. I guess I can't complain. I had a terrible migrane going into it, then theres that other problem.

It looks like I am going to need surgery on my shoulder. It popped out again while playing slow pitch softball. That makes a grand total of four times in five months. The doctor said my tendons are beyond stretched out and that if I dont get this surgery the chance of dislocation again is almost 100%. Its tough having one of the most important things in your life get ripped from under you. Ever since I lost all that weight I have prided myself on going to the gym or runing 5-6 times a week. It looks like I wont be able to do this for 4-6 months. I am quite depressed over this situation, but I am trying to keep my chin up and my hopes high.

I might be working on my phD after college. Next term I am starting research relating seismic activity to grouting. I need to simulate a seismic event in a contained amount of soil. I want to simulate p-waves, s-waves, and surface waves. I am worried that even though the p-waves are not felt by people, that it might dissasociate the grout used, making the s-waves extra distructive. I have no idea how to simulate this yet; I guess this is why it is called research.

I feel like im loosing touch with a lot of my friends recently. It reminds me of senior year in high school. Im only friends with one or two still from there, I hope that legacy does not carry over for college.

Peace
