no one seems to be keeping a live journal lately.
on the other hand, i don't really have any place to talk, but on the gripping hand, i'm in an updating mood today, so...
here's an update on the life of kenny.
danielle and i saw the shining over the weekend. creepy movie. i completely expected axe-wielding, maze-chasing, maniacal-father-goes-crazy nightmares, but, none yet...
the lightning on saturday was really impressive. there was one bolt that seemed to be right across the street, so close that it was less boom and more crack, and the flash and bang were very close. danielle jumped so high i was afraid she was going to land on the floor and screamed.
on sunday, at church, we had a guest speaker. that's usually a bad thing, as denis is one of the best preachers i have ever met. a while ago, we had someone come to 'encourage us', who gave the same sorry lesson at a church dinner (i didn't know it was coming- i got gypted out of the nice meal i had been expecting (brian, you should remember that)) and again that same sunday. but this week, our visitor was really good. apparently, he was one of denis' teachers at jesus school. nice guy too.
after church, we went to the supermarket and then home, and had a nice sunday afternoon that would be really boring to write or read about, so i won't post anything about it.
last week sometime, tommy told me that realplayer had died on him. i have realplayer, and i told him that i had never had never had any problems with it in all the months i had used it. i went home that day, and, while i was listening to music, realplayer mysteriously crashed between songs.
"great," i thought, and rebooted my computer. when windows finished loading, i went to open realplayer.
BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH
and i had laughed at tommy, too
through trial and error, i decided that it was opening the library that was killing it, and re installed realplayer.
still broken.
so i asked around, and most of my windows-using friends use winamp, so i decided to try it out, and it's much nicer than realplayer was. i recommend it.
i started a new niven book about aliens who come to the earth and try to take over.
it's his only one like that, and i guess he decided to give it a shot at least once, seeing as he is a sci-fi writer. it's kinda slow so far, but i'm only on page 36.
