Hey - I value your opinion and thoughts. I've got no beef with being a step parent, or an adoptive parent to one kid... Any more becomes a show stopper from a financial and practicality point of view. I want two kids. I'm resolute on that.
But yeah, I have a "primordial" desire to have flesh and blood kids... Don't know why... Just... You *feel* it.
I certainly had an adoptive family land on me, and I went from living on my own to having " a wife and 3 kids " over night - a 3, 9, and 10 year old. So from doing my own thing, over night it was getting kids dressed, lunches, schools, after school, term time, not term time, blah blah blah. It was like a bomb going off - But they are three great kids, and I would be proud as hell if they were my kids. But... They aren't truly mine. They moved out Christmas 2012, but I still care for them, the youngest particularly (I've been in her life since she was 1 ish) cares for me... But yeah...
I've seen the chaos that kids cause... And the stress... And the alcoholics that parents become (lol) and... I still want them.
It certainly is something I've observed in parents, and not parents... Certain things actual parents can't vs not-yet-parents.
