You might notice I never really talk about cars or anything to do with being mechanically inclined towards automobiles. That's pretty much because I'm not - even a little. I mean, I can do the basics but I'm petty clueless. Anyhow, my front two tires on the ol' 2004 Nissan Murano are in need of a change. I'm just about down to zero tread so while the timing is horrible (right before my NYC trip) I think I'm gonna have to break down and drop some cash on new tires this weekend.
Thing is, the Good Year tires that came with the car are fine but they get pretty bad reviews online. There's another brand that cost about 15 bucks more but they get way better reviews and have a 65k warranty.
Now, it's only the front two tires that need replacing really. My question is - Is it bad to mix brands/types on a car? Should all four tires match?
It's the difference between spending about 260 for two new good years, about 720 minus 40 rebate for the other brand and 4 tires, or spending about 360 for two new nifty tires...
Thanks!
