Good lord, I'd forgotten how much man candy there is in Fiddler on the Roof besides Topol.  It's little wonder this was a childhood fav of mine... My Tivo knows me better than I thought!

It's one of my favorites - I've always thought the "To Life" number was a like big bear beer bust, lots of drinking, and hugging (and dancing, but, you know), and THEN - just like real life - the twinks come and momentarily try to steal the thunder. That guy even interrupts it TWINKILY, holding one LOOOOOOOONG note... Later Tevye has to debate - should I dance with a twinky boy? And he curls his finger through his beard, then turns and the bears shake their heads, no. But Tevye dances anyway, and realizes everyone just wants to dance and drink and have fun.

Yes, I've watched it a few times.

The story takes place in an area that my ancestors are from, and I have visited... near the border of Ukraine and Poland.

My favorite bear musical has long been "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers," but now I'll have to go back and see "Fiddler" again - it's been ages.
