I agree with your estimation. They could have lost all the simpy "why aren't you spending as much time with your friends?" crap and just concentrated on the workplace, where all the interesting stuff was going on, and lost little or nothing.

(And in the screenwriter Q&A that I attended, she said they deliberately kept Stanley Tucci's character as nasty and catty as possible while still being helpful, so he wouldn't be such a stereotypical "fairy godmother" character. Good call.)

Also - I saw "Prada" last week, and then "Prairie Home Companion" last night, and I'm currently suffering from Meryl Streep Whiplash. It's kinda disorienting!

When Superman Returns threatened to break down again last night, we almost got up to see it. I read the book, so I had a very good feeling that it would be decent, and definitely quotable. We'll probably catch it this weekend, then sneak into Pirates 2.
