Howdy ho.
So, by this time tomorrow I'll be either in Calgary or just a bit outside of it, depending on how fast we drive really. I'm looking forward to it so much, just for the break to get away form here and get away from work.
So this also means that I'll be getting my Wii in about 48 hours. It's weird, I was talking to my friend in Winnipeg earlier today and he told me that Wii's are all over the place there. My Calgary friends told me that Wii's are all over the place there as well. Yet you go to any store here, whether it's Wal-mart, Best Buy, Future Shop, or EB games, and you can't find a single one. It seems like we're the only province not over flowing in them. On another odd Wii note, I guess Nunchucks are hard to find, but stores here have tons of them, yet no wiimotes. Still speaking of the Wii, I picked up Resident Evil 4 the other day. It looks like it's fun to play, and everything I've heard about it says it owns. It also helps that it's on for so cheap, half the price of the normal Wii games cause of it being such an old title.
I almost bought the Transformers game the otherday, but I decided to read more about it, and maybe rent it first. Movie based games tend to suck hard, so I'm not sure if I want to risk getting it. I'm also debating on DBZ for the Wii. It looks intense to play it, what with making the gestures for moves and all. There seem to be so many games I want to get for the Wii, but I don't want to waste all my money right away before going.
hmm what else?
It turns out I'm actually off till the 15th instead of the 11th. That was a bit of a surprise to me. But that means when I get back on the 8th or 9th, I'll have a lot of spare time to play my Wii, or even FFXII. Yeah, I actually started playing it the other day. It's ok I guess, but I feel it's kind of slow compared to the other ones. I'm not sure if I like any of the characters yet either really.
I'll be seeing Transformers this week, just not sure when. It still fills me with a lot of anger and dislike when I see the commercails for it, but it's Transformers, so I have to see it really. I don't think I'll like it as much as I like the 86 animated movie though to be honest. I mean, that's a movie I have watched hundreds of time. I can tell you how much time is left in it still just from a few lines of dialogue, I can point out to you the names of every single dead autobot and decepticon in it. Hell, I just watched it on Friday and Saturday, and I'm debating if I want to watch it tonight at work again or not.
Speaking of watching, Season 3 of Doctor Who finished yesterday in the U.K. I downloaded the episode, but I haven't actually watched it yet. I know you're wondering why, how someone who mentions Doctor Who in his blog every update, hasn't watched it yet, but I have a reason. See, Joel is visiting me at work tonight, and we're going to watch it there together. So I wanted to wait, and share the experience of a new episode with him.
So with it being July, that also means the countdown to Harry Potter is my big thing now. 20 days, and the book comes out. Oddly enough, Amazon.ca has made special arrangements so that those of us who pre-ordered it (like I did in Jan when the release date was announced) can get it on the actual day it's released, which is a Saturday. I think that's pretty cool. The movie also comes out in like two weeks. It's funny, book 5 was my favourite one, but I could care less for the movie. The Harry Potter movies have really done nothing but let me down with each one, whether it's from peoples lines getting switched or parts that are very important being cut out, they just leave me feeling letdown. So yeah, I care more about the book coming out then the movie is the point.
You know a game that I think would be cool on the Wii, especially if they used the controller to it's full capability? a NHL game. Dekeng with the nanchuck, and shooting with the wii mote would rock. Manual aim would be nasty on that I think. What I would love to see in the next NHL game, is something like road to the hall of fame in Madden or The Show, that would be fun I think.
Not going golfing this coming week since I'll be in Calgary, but when I bet back Brad wants to go too the Goulet for some reason. It's an ok course I guess, pretty open fairways and no water, but it's not the great place he seems to be thinking it is. It'll be nice I guess though to do a full 18 finally instead of just a quick 9.
Eh, guess that's all. Almost time for Entourage, then off to work. See you either in Calgary, or when I get back.
