#3. Susan Sarandon, 59
When we got our issue of Newsweek earlier this year, we could hardly believe that dear Susan was turning sixty this year. On October 4th to be exact, and I think we should all throw her a birthday party. Of course, that is in prime birthday period nine months prior to which all our friends' parents decided to do the horizontal hokey pokey. Bad image. Moving on...we'll have to find a way to make time for Susan. There should always be time for Susan.
Viewers were first acquainted with Susan in the Rocky Horror Picture Show (which I've never seen), but she quickly moved on to bigger and better things. She received her first Oscar nomination for Atlantic City with Burt Reynolds. If you have not yet watched it, stop reading this and go Netflix it right now. Perhaps the best movie out there about lost hopes and dreams. Of course, we can't think of any other movies about lost hopes and dreams right now. Susan got three more Oscar nominations before finally winning the big thing in 1995 for Dead Man Walking. She showed up to the Oscars that year without earrings and everyone went all agog because they finally realized that ear lobes are sexy, especially when seen on Susan Sarandon.
The '90s also saw the Natalie Portman and Susan Sarandon duet of Anywhere But Here. We should totally watch this movie, but haven't yet. We even rented it, but were a little apprehensive of watching it, because if the movie was bad it would be blasphemy for idolatry we possess for both of the actors. We can only hope that Susan Sarandon is to Natalie Portman what Meryl Streep now is for Lindsay Lohan. OH! We weren't even planning a Lindsay Lohan connection here! It would have been great if Susan had taken Natalie under her wing, but we guess it just wasn't meant to be.
Even into the 2000s, Susan gets awesome roles that aren't only limited to nuns and mothers. In Alfie (which we also have not seen), she played a totally hot love interest.
Ooh! Susan Fun Fact: She has a daughter,
Eva Amurri who was the crazy Macauly Culkin love interest in Saved! And we all know who played a
hot mom in that movie! This countdown is just a big orgy of hot women all connected together.
