I think this is perhaps the best season of 24 since Season 1. Of course, nothing can match Season 1 because it totally shattered everything I held true about safety, about home, about conspiracies. It was just one twist after another and I totally ate it up. Also, I watched the first 20 episodes in one sitting, so my mind was on constant stimulus. But Season 1 was so different from all the subsequent ones, because I never saw any of it coming. The personal nature of the attack on Jack's family and the rape were more horrifying than any nuclear bombs or viruses they can unleash upon Los Angeles. And then when Terry and Kim returned home and we thought they were safe, it was so cruelly snatched away from us. And Jack's family aside, the plot was CRAZY from the drama of Nina Meyers to the underground prison to the final death. And I finally feel like 24 is doing it again with this season. They are pulling out all the stops, so that we cannot possibly expect anything anymore. And yet, even though I was prepared to watch anything happen or anyone die tonight, I was still flabbergasted. I. Love. 24.
Oh, and I totally dig that Desmond from Lost is now part of German intelligentsia. Speaking of Desmond, he's still on the freakin' island. I wonder when he'll make an appearance again. Undoubtedly, he's gone back to the main station of the Others, but seriously, they need to bring him back.
