Major major LOST musings

First off, tvgasm had a wonderful recap of last week's episode. It made me laugh tons, especially the part about Ana Lucia's amazingly straight teeth:

Anywho, a couple things. Someone was supposed to die last week and we have three choices: Sawyer, Cindy, or Shannon. Now, the obvious choice is Shannon because after all she stumbled out of the jungle with a "bullet hole" in her chest and collapsed into Sayid's arms and then Sayid had this menacing "I'm going to go National Guard on your ass" look on his face towards Shannon's attacker who may or may not be Ana Lucia. Phew, that was a long sentence. But Shannon cannot die for a few reasons: A. This show is full of shockers. I don't believe anything we're supposed to believe. B. If you kill off Shannon, you kill off that entire storyline! If they were going to kill another cast member off, don't you think it would be someone other than the only other dead main character's stepsister?! C. The following picture shows some very interesting things about the "bullet hole."

It looks more like a knife wound than a gunshot wound. Ed Hill from tvgasm doesn't think this is a big deal which automatically begs the question "Why the fuck is he writing the LOST recap? Because any true fan would know that EVERYTHING is a big deal on that show." And I also don't like how Ed Hill assumes that it is Ana Lucia that killed Shannon. We never see the Ana Lucia group and the Sayid/Shannon pairing in the same frame, so really the scenes could have been juxtaposed to trick us into believe that the two have met when really they are looking at entirely different things. Perhaps Ana Lucia shot something else and Sayid is looking menacingly at whatever actually did slice Shannon up. I guess we'll have to wait two weeks for that.

D. Jack, although the writers have forgotten him, is still a doctor. I feel that if it is indeed a knife wound, Shannon will survive it. Of course, we'll have to wait two weeks for that (or maybe three since I doubt they'll be airing LOST the Wed before Thanksgiving) since next we get to start LOST all over again with the other others, aka The Tailies. Although some are ecstatic about finding out what actually happened to them, I could not care less. But it should be interesting to see Ana Lucia's back story (I assume that's whose flashbacks we'll get to see).
