Ah, a somewhat eventful past couple of days. For starter, I got my Xbox 360. Yes I caved and shelled out big bucks on a non-essential. Sure I feel bad about it...but man it is SOOO cool! And its not like I got it any cheaper than those who bought it when they first came out, however mine is much less likely to overheat and fuck up like the 1st generation ones did, thats all I really wanted. That being said I think I'm officially cutting myself off from frivolous, or least exorbident purchases for the rest of the summer. Because I've had a few now, the guitar, the laptop, and now the 360. And yet I'm still not broke, oh man I love cheap rent! So yeah, the 360 rocks, I haven't spent all my free time in front of it though, I've been busy, working, the gym, and last night I had some fun. Went out to Gracies with Jen, we finally went on that date that was planned so long ago and despite my hesitance, it actually went very well...which is good and bad. I like this Jen shes fun, and yeah sexy....but on the other hand there is Erin, who is really really hawt and cute and sweet. ARGH it never rains but it pours! Whatever, I'm allowed to date more than one person, I just don't see it going well in the end. The thing is, they both seem so...well opposite to each other, its kind of funny actually. Anyways, nobody likes drama, least of all Bort's drama, so I won't go on too much more about it.
I managed to get off the last half of my shift on friday so I am going to GAME 1 baby! Oh yeah, its gonna be sweetass sweet, sweet than a jar full of marachino cherries, with an extra cup of sugar poured on top! Dude, this is some diabetic sweetness right here! Alright...I'm calm, I'm cool...collected. Yeah getting the shift off wasn't easy either, I owe the guy some beers for it, and the guy who owes me a few favours totally didn't come through, so I've made it my duty to burn him whenever possible from now on. I mean honestly, one good turn deserves another right? If I'm willing to do favour for someone, shouldn't they pay it back? It all comes down to economics again, if we all cooperate then the outcomes are going to be more favourable and everyone's happiness is maximized, but if one motherfucker gets greedy and stiffs the rest of us, we all burn and he profits, so only he is better off, but that only encourages more distrust and unhappiness. In sum, woe betide the bastards who bring this upon the world, they are the root of all evil. Sometimes I wish people as a whole were just more honourable, trustworthy, I mean come on, the world would run so much more smoothly if everyone was honest and upfront, deceit, lies, these little byzantine power games we play, all it creates is more strife, pain and suffering. I sometimes wonder if that is in our nature. Are humans inherently distrustful and conniving? Do we always seek to one up each other, trying to be the best at something. And is that a bad thing? Is the human instinct to become the best one can be, our blessing and our downfall? Talk about bittersweet irony. Man, I'm thinking way too hard...school is out, I should just shut that brain right down for the next few months lol. Anyways, its sleepy time, because I'm back to the depot again tomorrow.
