If none of you watched the human trafficking mini-series on lifetime you should be ashamed of yourselves.
IF YOU HAVE A HEART, YOU WILL REPASTE THIS ON YOUR OWN JOURNAL AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME.
As
you sit here at your computer, girls all over the world, and even here
in the US are being raped for money. They were probably raped last
night. And they're going to be raped tomorrow night as well. They were
trafficked; a form of slavery that still exists in the world today.
Human
trafficking is the third largest criminal action in the world, right
after arms and drugs. 800,000 people are taken from their homes to be
forced into sexual exploitation or slavery. Do you think we are immune
in the US? 18,000 of those are trafficked each year into the
US. They're making $9.5 billion a year off of the repeated abuse of
these women and girls, all of whom had no idea what they were getting
into.
Not only that, but there are other people forced to work
long hours of manual labor without pay. Everything that we supposedly
are against in this country is happening, sometimes right under our
nose on American soil.
It is such a large problem that it's so hard for one person to do something. All I can do is send you
here and tell you to educate yourself on the facts of the matter.
And I can tell you to repost this on your friends list. One entry is a ripple effect.
EDUCATION IS POWER
now you all do it, too.
