Well we went to Jersey to see John Barrowman on Sat which was for me around 3 hours drive and an hour or so flight (not including checking in and so forth) plus 30 mins to hotel at end, then up at 5am to catch 7am flight which was delayed by an hour and a half to get to Gatwick for a 4 hour drive to Cardiff and then about 3-4 hours home on Monday morning. Not as long as yours but enough hassle in itself but we do it a lot so we're used to it now.
Yep, I do all the driving and don't know the route but I do at least have the advantage of being able to read the signs without translating them!
TBH BG were much better at The Plough than at SWA and it was a longer set. Although SWA2 was a great day itself you probably got the better deal in BG terms by going to The Plough tbh.

It was a good day despite heat, 3 hours sleep and a long hike from Jersey at 5am to get there.
