Not actually dead!

Dear Friends,

I know that I have not posted in quite some time, and that is because of all the changes going on in my life. Things have been CRAZY. I could even spell that with a K (like Kuh-RAZY) and it would not justly describe that madness of things this last month.

For those of you who have not heard, I have a job now. I am living in Portland, MI (about 18 miles W of Lansing). I am teaching at Saranac Community Schools (about 20 MORE miles W of Lansing). My apartment is pretty pimp--a 960 sq ft loft above a lawyer's office in downtown Portland. All the exterior facing walls are done in Original brick. Picture downtown Albion, only cleaner, then you will get an impression of what Portland is like.

Let's see...I started dating someone who ISN'T from Albion a few months ago. Things are going great, and as she also loves cartoons and collects comics we have an inexhaustive amount of material to talk about. Some of you have met her already, and hopefully more of you can soon.

I am quickly moving into dangerously adult territory. Examples:
--I bought a CAR on Friday (more on this later);
--I have a REAL job;
--I bought a washer and dryer this weekend (being delivered on Thursday).

Yeah, dangerously adult. Good thing I got the Internets back for you all to keep me in check.

Okay--I mentioned the car. It is a 2007 Dodge Caliber, Marine Blue Pearl is the "official" Dodge color. Some neat things about it, including that the front passanger seat folds forward (giving me storage room from the hatch all the way to the dash on that side--GREAT for instruments) and that the glove box is refridgerated. It's totally neat. Hopefully you guys can see that soon, too.

I am sure I am missing tons of things, but so much has happened...I will update as I remember. Still have the same celly number and am always looking for company, so drop a line now and again.

Take care!

PS Happy 100th Birthday to Dmitri Shostakovich. Too bad you died in 1975, because your music kicks major ass.
