To be granted such a responsibility, Castiel vowed to forever protect the life of Dean Winchester. When he first meets his charge though, things don’t go quite as expected. Castiel finds himself breaking every rule in the book and starts to wonder if he can’t create his own purpose as a Guardian Angel.

Notes: I am soooo happy to have worked with gassadaa. I fell in love with her art the moment I first saw it on the dc_dystopia claims and right away the plot bunnies started to go crazy. I didn't tell her (since I didn't want to scare her) but this is the first time I actually wrote a fanfic of any kind (SURPRISE SWEETIE). Usually I just stick to art but I love writing and Supernatural and figured I'd better at least try and combine the two.
Gassadaa was so nice from the start (If I remember right, she messaged me as soon as I claimed her prompt) and I just feel very happy to have met her. After taking a closer look at her art in her journal, I realized I followed her on DA and oh my god, I had a fangirl moment. Her art is very inspiring and makes me want to work hard to improve my own skills. Even if you don't read the fic you should go look at her fabulous art! Go here! Go!
Of course, because I love her so much, I knew I had to spend a lot of time with this story. I did a lot of planning and did my best to give her drawings justice. At one point I was looking at my outline and thinking 'God this sucks. This is so boring-- No one would want to read this'. The only reason I didn't give up was because of my great artist and how much she deserve a story. So I scrapped a bunch of ideas and pushed the story in a fresher (hopefully more enjoyable) direction.
I have to mention the formatting --- I suck at it. I'm crossing my fingers that the links all work. I don't even want to think about how much time I spent trying to make everything look good. Ikindofgaveup. Ahaha. Anyway, hope you read it! OR AT LEAST GO CHECK OUT THE ART. SERIOUSLY.
And, of course, many thanks to my last minute Beta! I had to go back and mess around with it so any mistakes you see are, for sure, my own. Thanks to the mods for making this a very enjoyable bang and I hope to be able to do it again last year!
