So Jimmy Carr, quick witted and shape mouthed presenter of distraction, is in trouble but in the UK for making an offensive joke about wounded war veterans.
The joke was 'Say what you will but come 2012 we'll have a great paralympic team'
I'm no expert in being offended but I'm not sure what the problem with this joke. Perhaps if people believe there is some shame in being a paralympian I would get what they are on about. To me it just seems like a statement of fact. Soldiers lose limbs in combat. Pretending they don't or getting upset when some one mentions this fact changes nothing. Joining the paralympic team seems like a very good idea, soldiers are already very fit and having a goal and worth while occupation seems to me something that ought to be encouraged.
