Defence Review.
Todday I made an oral presentation of my submission to the defence review. I had spent all this day and yesterday reading up on NZ Defence & Foreign policy including old assignments. Some of my old essays aren't as bad as I remembered them to be and in some cases I sounded smarted than I thought I was. Inspite of all this I was still pretty nervous when I got there, It was a big room full of seats!! I was second to speak. I probaly spoke to fast and maybe not clearly enough But in the end I think it was all good.
In complete contrast to my talk, the next speaker was a complete Ghandist Pacifist! Quite a difference! In totally we had two Pacifists, an ex Navy dude who wanted maybe 6 Frigates, two other Realists as well as a person who wanted the Porirua abse kept open and a person who thought its greater that the defence force has so many Maoris & Pakehas working together.
I gave out my card to some folks so Now I'm hoping to get a happy phone call offering me a job. Its not a far fetched as some of my day dreams.
Tomorrow night I'm going to go to Happy to see a freind's gig if anyone in Wellington wants to come with.
