On Friday I'm heading up to PN for the weekend. The Friday night will be family stuff, but I expect there to be mischief on the Saturday night, most probaly beer&bullshit related mischief. You Palmerstonians now have your briefings!
I will also be tapping into the supply of lego at my parents so as to play Mechaton better. Mechaton is a fantasic wargame which uses lego robots in place of overpriced minitures. I played in a four player game on Saturday and it only took about an hour and was heaps of fun. I came second but got boasting rights for destroying the most enemy mechs {2.5} and for taking the least damage {none}.

On Sunday we played red box D&D. after spending perhaps an hour build characters and then introducing them to the setting, crafting the beginning of a storyline, we both died in the second round of the first encounter. I think when it comes to early D&D good DMing is in knowing which rules and rolls to ignore, otherwise nobody gets anywhere!
