I suspected, but it's always nice to receive confirmation, be it military intel or simple praise.

I suppose everyone wants to hear a compliment once in a while. [ unless you're weirder than the usual, which they all kind of were. but compliments are still nice. ] I was surprised to hear you turned down the training, though.

That's not the kind of training I'm into. I prefer using weaponry and alchemy when I fight, not raw strength.

[ and judith is the complete opposite, but something else hits her. ] Alchemy? [ last she heard, that wasn't exactly something you could... fight with. ]

...Oh, I never told you? Back home, I'm an alchemist. It's something that doesn't come up much here, so it tends to slip under the radar.

I've never heard of something like that being used for fighting. [ if johto weren't johto, she'd ask for a display but... it's johto. ]

Oh, believe me, it's quite useful. Alchemists usually have a transmutation circle somewhere -- on their gloves, gauntlets, bare hands -- that lets them transmute objects immediately, though each alchemist has a specialty.

[ transmutation circle? she attributes her easy understanding to the familiarity of that method. ] That sounds like something back home, actually.

[Roy can tell from the way Judith says it that it isn't alchemy, though.]

So this "aer" is some kind of raw material, then?

In a way. It isn't visible, except in large qualities. [ turning these words over in her head. ] Rita would be better at explaining it than I am.

I will say, though, I miss being able to perform alchemy, even with alternative means of defense here.
