So I recently ordered a huge sample pack from Baxter of California (
http://www.baxterofcalifornia.com), a company that makes men's skin-care / showering / styling products. It took them a week to get from Culver City to here, but they finally came yesterday, making today the first day of product tryouts, to be chronicled here:
Day 1:
Italian Lime & Pomegranate Bodywash -- Yawn. While smelling kind of nice, there really wasn't much else to say about it. It is a lot more subtle than your Old Spice Bodywash (or worse, Axe), and one nice thing about it is that you don't really have to worry about it interfering with your cologne. This made me realize that I need better deodorant than the Degree I'm rocking right now.
Weekly Treatment Facial Scrub -- I actually really liked this. It was unscented and made from walnut shells. I actually noticed an appreciable difference when I looked at my face in the mirror afterward, which I can't do with most products.
Daily Face Wash -- I enjoyed this as well, for its more subtle qualities. It doesn't feel like you're using Clearasil or Neutrogena, and is completely unscented. It did a great job of cleaning up the oil slick that is my face!
Moisturizing Lotion (Normal to Oily Skin) -- I hate using lotions, mostly because they're greasy and my face is usually already oily to begin with, but this was actually my favorite product I used today. Aside from the "how much is too much" learning curve I had, the stuff disappeared into my skin almost immediately. Altogether with the scrub, wash, and this, my face actually feels a lot different than it usually does; not bracing or stinging or anything, but nice.
