[Bemused beyond all recognition, her hair flattened as she rose her hand up to regard the marking embroidered there. Pulling off the glove with her teeth revealed that same intricate sigil, only scarificated right into her delicate flesh. This mark, burned into the very make-up of Alucard's soul, was laced with Abraham's own blood, bounding the monster till his line would come to an end.
They were fetters without irons. Chains the vampire could never hope to break no matter how hard it had pulled. Alucard had long since stopped fighting against them, girding himself in the cloth of a servant for a chapter he knew would end--When humanity's last great enemy would win as it always did.
Death. It was always the victor. And Dracula merely needed to bide his time.
