Poor Opsec (operational security)
this post is going to be about all of the fucked up shit that happens out in iraq, most of it will be funny,i cant tell you what is supposed to be done though.
and i will be updateing this list as i remember more, or more of them happen
1) a ssg air traffic controller trying to land several uh-60 blackhawk helicopters on top of several hummvs passing below. (he almost killed people on several occasions)
2)firing at a range while wearing no protective gear and hearing the pops and whiz's of the rounds ricocheting back past you. (probally shouldnt have been firing at those thick ass metal barrels but it was fun either way)
3)a sergant first class (E-7) losing an m-16, two magazines, and a m-9 while at a range, also loading an m-9 magazine backwards (didnt think that was even possible) and whats worse he was the range ncoic (range nco in charge)
4)a couple uh-60 black hawks missing their target and crossing the border into syria to drop leaflets onto a syrian town (dont know how they managed to keep that on the dl).
5) two uh-60 blackhawks flying right next to one another, this also consists of them tailing one another (literally right up on the other) not such a safe pracitce when flying.
6) an oh-58 firing a rocket in to a birm on the fob, directly before they approach the tower and the farp (refuel and rearm point). lol just a little further and it woulda been a bit of entertainment.
7)an eod team using an entire case of c-4 explosive to blow up two rpg rounds, it was enough to shake the entire fob (eod gets a bit bored).
8)a c&e tech deciding that standing in front of a radar that is fully operational is a smart thing to do (imagine microwaving your entire body for a while, cept this is a bit worse).
9) a pair of oh-58 helicopters flying through a live range and almost getting shot down by a hellfire shot from another pair of 58's currently using the range
10) a pair of oh-58's coming over the radio having one say how the other sucks and needs more practice, momemnts later the pilot comes back saying hes getting better and at least he made it onto the range this time, (kinda kills your faith in air support).
11) someone who fucks around with uxo and get their arms blown off........less than funny
NOW FOR THE FUNNY SHIT
12) a soldier pissing in anothers body spray........the body spray was used throughout the rest of the deployment.
13) a soldier taking anothers toothbrush and scrubbing a toilet seat with it........the toothbrush was still used afterwards.
14) a soldier having koolaid poured down the barrel of their weapon so it gets stuck together..........didnt realise till damn near the very end of the deployment.
12-14 had the same victim
15) a soldier having water and baby powder splashed on him while taking a shit in the toilet.
16) filling water balloons with lotion and putting them in soldiers boots for the next day of work......soldier found out somewhat late
17)the set up of water traps on multiple soldiers living areas.........a few made it out dry
18) literally lifting a soldiers living area, we took a jack from the motorpool jacked his area up and put a set of blocks down so it was tilted.
