A strange ending...

Kenneth Lay - dead at age 64 - long before his September 11 sentencing and long before ever seeing the inside his jail cell. The crooked ex-Enron CEO had cast himself as a victim and portraying the case as a witch hunt by the public, media and prosucuters.  The day he was convicted he appeared upbeat outside the courthouse stating “I firmly believe I’m innocent of the charges against me” and “We believe that God in fact is in control and indeed he does work all things for good for those who love the lord.”

I'm not religious, however, a higher power certainly had plans for Mr. Lay.
