slow start

Well, it’s Monday again.  I was late to work by ten minutes today because of traffic and some paint factory fire downtown.  It really hasn’t been too busy in here today so that means its time to update the journal and attend to other meaningless tasks.  Basically, its just a fuck-off day  :P

Christina and I watched the NBC remake of ‘The Poseidon Adventure’ last night.  It wasn’t too bad of a TV movie.  The special effects were pretty cool but the acting could have been a bit better.  The only real problem I has was Steve Guttenberg was in it and he looks like a washed up rag doll.  It’s like the man didn’t have any eyebrows.  No eyebrows = freaky ugly.  I also kept expecting Gene Hackman to pop in and save everyone but Rutger Hauer saved the day instead.  The storyline was updated too…it was no longer a rogue wave that capsized the Poseidon, it was a terrorist bomb that went off instead.  Even with this update, the story held up well.  There is also a big-budget movie remake of TPA simply entitled ‘Poseidon’ coming out next year.  I enjoyed the original when I was a kid so hopefully the new one will be even better.   We also watched to new ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’  That wasn’t too bad either.

With the short week, I have been contemplating making a return to SC or L.  It’s been at least two years since I’ve stepped in those places.  Unfortunately, it’s also been two years since I’ve seen some of the cool people that hang out there.
